Written by Angel Horowitz

📝 Overview

The Zoetis Fuse integration in DaySmart Vet streamlines how veterinary clinics manage and access diagnostic lab results. With this integration, results from Zoetis in-house diagnostics automatically sync into the patient’s medical record, reducing manual entry and saving time. It enhances workflow efficiency, ensures accurate record-keeping, and provides quick access to comprehensive diagnostic data—all within the DaySmart Vet platform.

✅ Enabling the Integration

  1. Click Settings > Integrations from the left hand navigation or the Integrations tab if you are in the Settings module

  2. Search for Zoetis Fuse in the search bar in the upper right

  3. Complete the form that appears by providing your Zoetis Client ID

  4. Click Enable

⚠️ Once the integration is enabled, check to make sure that your Zoetis Station(s) are properly connected and online by navigating to Settings > Configuration > View Devices

🔬 How to Set Up Inventory Items

When you enable the integration, DaySmart Vet will create Zoetis items in your Inventory.

If you have existing Zoetis Fuse inventory items, you will need to "map" your existing inventory items to Zoetis' catalog to complete the integration. To do this:

  1. Navigate to the applicable laboratory item in the Inventory module (eg CBC)

  2. Click on Merge Item"

  3. In the Merge Into field, type in the appropriate Zoetis item that is now in your inventory (eg Zoetis: CBC (2000)

  4. Type merge in the text box and select Continue to Merge

⚠️ The name of integrated labs cannot be changed from the inventory default. After merging, you may need to edit the Base Price of the new Zoetis item that was created. To do so, click Edit Item, enter the appropriate base price, and click Save + Done.

💡 If you do not have any existing Zoetis Fuse items, please navigate to the newly created Fuse inventory items that you are going to utilize, and price the lab item(s).

⌨️ How to Submit Labs to The Fuse

Follow the steps below for the proper workflow of submitting labs.

  1. In DaySmart Vet, create the lab medical record using the mapped Zoetis item (the record will transmit the data to the Zoetis machine, and will be pending). When creating the record, make sure the "Send to Machine" field is set to "Yes"

  2. Enter the DaySmart Vet patient ID in the Zoetis machine and run the sample

  3. Once the lab is complete, the results will populate in the lab record in DaySmart Vet. If you do not see the results, please go to the Patients module in DaySmart Vet, and click on the "Labs" tab and filter for "Unassigned". You may click the "Assign" button to assign the record to the patient.

💡 Click the button to learn more about unassigned labs.
