Unassigned Status

There could be a number of reasons a record will come back unassigned. The most common reasons being that if a step was missed during the workflow, or if a record was deleted after the lab was submitted. Manage who receives a notification from the Labs option in the Notification Settings.

How to Assign an Unassigned Lab

  1. Filter for the "Unassigned" Status, and either find the unassigned lab in the list or search for the lab within the search bar

  2. Click the "Assign" option on the right of the lab

  3. The patient will autofill in the "Patient" field, or search for the applicable patient if needed. Next, select the "Record" type you need. If there is no record yet, select "Create new record". Otherwise, select the dropdown and choose where the record should be assigned. The system will look and see if the patient has any current lab records that the lab can be assigned to

  4. If "Create new record" is chosen, the "New Record" form will appear. Fill out the new record and select "Save"

Not Sent Status

This status will display any labs that have not been sent yet. If needed, you can use the red hyperlink to jump to the patient, and send the lab.

Completed Status

This status will display any labs that have successfully been completed and attached to the patient's record.

Pending Status

This status will display any labs that were submitted, and the results are currently pending.

Expired Status

This status will display any labs that have expired, and are no longer valid. You will have to create a new record for any of these labs if needed.

🔔 Lab Notifications

When lab results are in, it is important for the provider to be notified so they can review the results. This section covers how notification and tasks are generated for labs.

Click the arrow to learn more about lab notifications

The provider who is listed on the lab's medical record, will receive a task and notification (if the lab notification is turned on) when the lab results are in. The results can be clicked on and viewed directly from the task.

The lag page allows both providers and staff to access any patient's lab results—ideal when a provider is out or staff are managing results. Notifications can be enabled under Labs in notification settings.

💡Explore our Help Center articles below to learn more about managing notifications and tasks.

If you need image results to automatically generate tasks for staff subscribed to diagnostic image notifications, navigate to Settings > Configurations > View Configurations. Search for Global Notification Settings within the search bar on the top right of the list and turn on the Labs option.
