πŸ–₯️ How to Work with Notification Types

Your notifications are managed by clicking your initials on the far right of the shortcut bar, and clicking Notification Settings.

On the left side will be the different sections pertaining to those notifications. Using the toggles, turn on or off the notifications that best suit your needs. The notification can be turned on or off form the Allow Notifications toggle.

Each notification type offers two delivery options: Banner and Badge.

  • Banner – Appears in the upper right corner of the screen and auto-dismisses after four seconds.

  • Badge – Displays as a number on the Bell icon in the upper right corner, giving a quick at-a-glance indicator of pending notifications.

⚠️ The Badge option for Task Notifications cannot be turned off. This ensures all users are notified about tasks assigned to them.

πŸ’‘ Pharmacy, Lab & Imaging Notifications can be filtered down to specific Providers, so you are only notified for the results relevant to you. When these types are enabled, a list of available providers will appear for selection.

For a full listing of available notifications by category, see the Notification Types section below.

🌎 Global Notification Settings

If you prefer that lab, pharmacy, and diagnostic imaging notifications are automatically converted to tasks β€” rather than relying on users to convert them manually β€” this can be configured as a global account setting. This setting affects every user based on the notification types they are opted into.

πŸ’‘ Please Note: To ensure tasks are generated for lab results, you can enable the global setting to convert lab notifications into tasks, or add a task-generating action to a specific lab inventory item. Click the button to learn about inventory actions.

How To Configure Global Notification Settings

  1. Click on the Settings module

  2. Navigate to the Configuration tab and select View Configurations

  3. Search for Global Notification Settings and select the Edit button on the right

  4. By default, Diagnostic Image, Lab, and Pharmacy are opted out of automatic task conversion. Toggle on the type(s) you'd like to have tasks automatically created for.

πŸ” How to View Notifications

To review your notifications, click the Bell icon in the upper right corner. This expands the notifications tray from the right side of the screen.

Notifications are displayed in list view, sorted chronologically, with icons indicating the notification type for easy identification.

  • Filter notifications by type by clicking Filter by Type and selecting the desired checkboxes.

  • Dismiss a single notification by clicking the X next to it, or select Dismiss All at the top of the list.

  • Search notifications using the magnifying glass icon at the top of the notifications tray.

⚠️ Dismiss All and search results are limited by any active filter or search parameters. Notifications are only available for 30 days from the date of creation.

Converting Notifications to Tasks

Lab, Imaging & Pharmacy notifications can be manually converted to a task for follow-up or additional action. If multiple users have received the same notification and one user converts it to a task, the other users will see an arrow icon and the current task status next to that notification. Selecting it will link them to the newly created task (if they have permission to view all tasks). This prevents duplicate task creation.

Why are lab results showing as tasks instead of notifications?

Click the arrow to see the answer

If lab results are appearing as tasks, it is because the Lab option is enabled in Global Notification Settings. To have results appear as notifications instead, disable the Lab option by following the steps outlined in the Global Notification Settings section above.

Could a system update have changed the Lab option?

Click the arrow to see the answer

No. System updates do not automatically enable or disable the Lab option. Any changes to this setting must be made manually by a user with access to the clinic's settings. If the setting was changed unexpectedly, it was likely done accidentally.

Why didn't a task generate for lab results?

Click the arrow to see the answer

Tasks are not created automatically unless one of the following conditions is met:

  • The global setting to convert lab notifications into tasks is enabled.

  • A task-generating action is tied to the specific lab inventory item.

Can the layout of Antech lab results be changed?

Click the arrow to see the answer

No. The layout and template of Antech lab results are fully controlled and generated by Antech. Any layout changes must be requested directly through Antech.
