Once the Snippet template has been created, you can use them in the following areas:

  • Medical Notes

  • Letters

  • Email Body

  • Lab Results/Notes

  • Pharmacy Instructions (via new medical record or new invoice item)

  • Log Communication

  • Appointment Notes

  • Estimate Notes Field

  • Invoice Notes Field

  • Medical Record Notes Field

  • Task Notes Field

  • Reminder Notes Field

  • Appointment Status Field

To add a content snippet:

Click the arrow to learn more

  1. Click on "Settings"

  2. Click on "Templates" and select the option to create a "New Template". Complete the needed information in the box

  3. Select "Snippet" for the type of template.

  4. The "Title" is referring to how you will find the snippet within your snippet template list in settings and when adding it to a letter through the "Snippets" variable section.

  5. The hashtag that you select here will be used to identify this snippet in medical notes and letters. You do not need to type in "#" as that is implied in the "Hashtag" field.

  6. The "Description" field is where you can enter what the snippet is used for. This description is displayed next to the snippet in the templates in settings.

  7. Click "Save"

  8. Once you hit save, you will be directed to a new screen that will allow you to type in the content of the snippet. This is the content that will appear where ever you apply this snippet.

Once you create content snippets, you'll be able to use them in the allowed areas of the system.

A hashtag has to be created in order to use a snippet in the listed snippet areas above, with the exception letters and medical notes, where you can add snippets from the letter or medical note directly.

How to use a snippet with a hashtag:

To add a snippet using a hashtag, simply type a hashtag and the first few letters of your hashtag. As you type, you'll see a list of available snippets that match what you've typed. Select the desired hashtag and the content will be added automatically. Place your cursor where you want to add the content snippet before adding the content.

Date and Time Stamps:

Click the arrow to learn more

There are built in snippets for Date and Time Stamps that you can use to mark what date/time you made a note. These will also add your staff initials at the end. Use #date and/or #time right away without any setup!

These are especially useful when adding notes to medical notes or appointment notes acting as a stamp on when that information was added and by who.

Tips & tricks for creating a snippet!

  • Do not include the # symbol in the snippet "Hashtag:" section at the time of creation. Only when adding the snippet to the desired area (medical note, letter, etc).

  • Snippets are case sensitive. It may be easier to use all caps or all lowercase.

  • You can use the following symbols to separate the words: like-this, or like_this, or like.this.

  • If the snippet will be used in the Instruction field, keep in mind the 200 character limit. Going over this limit will prevent the record from being saved.
