Vetek Integration

Learn how to enable, configure and use the Vetek integration.

Written by Angel Horowitz

📝 Overview

This article explains how to enable the Vetek integration and map your inventory items to Vetek's database so you can submit lab requisitions and receive results directly within the platform.

🔑 Enabling the Integration

  1. Click Settings > Integrations from the left hand navigation or the Integrations if you are in the Settings module

  2. Click the green plus icon on the Vetek integration row

  3. Complete the form that appears and click Enable

💡 The credentials used here are the same ones you use to log in to the Vetek portal directly.

🗂️ Mapping Inventory Items & Submitting Records

After enabling the integration, you will need to map your inventory items to the corresponding items in the Vetek database.

To map an item and submit a requisition:

  1. Navigate to an existing inventory item and click Edit Item in the top left — or create a new inventory item if you don't have a pre-existing charge in your inventory

  2. Delete the item name and search using the Vetek requisition code. This is the most reliable way to narrow results and confirm you're selecting the correct test. For example, for a CBC, you might enter VT200..

  3. If you don't know the requisition code, you can also search by typing "Vetek" or a keyword from the item name

  4. Select the correct code from the results list. Confirm that the Base Price is appropriate, then click Save.

⚠️ Please Note: The item name must be selected from the Vetek results list. You may customize the Display Name (shown to clients) to any name you prefer.

🔬 Submitting Tests & Receiving Results

Once you have configured your test items in inventory, you can now submit tests to Vetek.

Submitting a Test

To submit a lab test for a patient, create a medical record or invoice item as usual for that item. Make sure the medical record Send to Lab field is set to Yes which is the default.

Next, print the requisition form from the dialog that appears and send it with the sample.

If you cancel the dialog that appears, you can print the requisition form at any time by navigating to the Vetek medical record and selecting Print Requisition Form from the top header.

Reviewing Results

When results are ready, the provider will receive a notification. Results can be reviewed in the original lab record on the patient file. If something goes wrong or the workflow is not followed, results may appear in the Patients module under the Unassigned Labs tab.
