🗺️ How to Map your Inventory

In order to submit tests to MVL, you will need to create inventory items (or edit existing inventory items).

To create a new inventory item:

  1. Click on Inventory

  2. Click on New Item

  3. Enter the name of the test in the “name” field (you can review all of MVL’s test catalog by typing “Midwest” first)

  4. Complete the remainder of the form

  5. Click Save + Done

To remap an existing inventory item:

  1. Navigate to the item’s profile

  2. Click on Edit Item

  3. Enter the name of the test in the name field and select the applicable test from the list that appears

  4. Click Save + Done

Submitting Labs
The integration is built into the process of creating a medical record for the applicable lab. To submit the lab:

  1. Create a medical record under the patient’s history or in a medical note. Please be sure that Midwest is set as the Source, and that Send to Lab is set to Yes.

  2. After saving the record, you will be prompted to print the requisition form. This form must accompany the sample so that the tests will be mapped back to the applicable medical record.

💡 Multiple labs can be selected within a single medical record. Multiple labs can also be combined into a bundle.

🧐 How to Review Results

Test results will be automatically imported into the applicable medical record. A task will notify the provider on record that results are available for viewing. Results will include the test values, reference ranges, and a history of prior tests that were run for this patient.
