In DaySmart Vet, the rabies and vaccine certificates will automatically print with the applicable provider's signature, if one is stored on file. For more information about checking out, see Checking In and Checking Out Appointments. For more information about using actions, see Working with Actions.

A provider's signature can be captured from the provider's profile by clicking on "capture signature." The signature can be captured using any touch device, such as an iPad, or typed. Having the signature on file for each staff member will ensure that certificates are always signed when generated, see Managing Staff Accounts and Permissions .

To Create a Certificate from the Patient Profile

  1. Navigate to the applicable Patient Profile

  2. Click on Documents and select New Certificates

  3. Select Email or Print

  4. Complete the Form to determine what type of certificate you wish to send and if you wish to include reminders or not.

  5. Click Send

The generated Certificate will be stored in Documents > View Certificates if needed at a later point.

To print or email a certificate when checking out an appointment

  1. Click "check out" at the bottom of the applicable appointment

  2. Click on the "documents" field

  3. Select the certificate(s) you wish to include

  4. Set the "export" field to print or email, as applicable

  5. Click "check out"

When emailing a certificate, the patient's primary owner appear as a recipient by default, so long as that person has an email on file. You may remove any recipient by clicking the "x" next to that person's name. You may add recipients by typing their name and selecting them from the list that appears.

To print a certificate automatically using actions:

  1. Navigate to the applicable inventory item

  2. Click on "actions" and select "new action"

  3. Complete the form that appears making sure to select "print certificate" as the action

  4. Click "save + done" to save the action

The action to print a certificate is not available in bundles because information necessary to complete that certificate (such as lot number or tag number) is not available. Instead, print the certificate after updating the record or when checking out the appointment.

To print a previously generated certificate:
When a certificate is generated it is automatically stored on the Patient and Client Profile under Documents > View Certificates.

  1. Navigate to the applicable profile (Client or Patient).

  2. Click on Documents and select View Certificates

  3. Click the red hyperlinked certificate to view as a PDF and print.

  4. Alternatively, you can click the gear icon at the far right to email or text (SMS) the certificate to the client or applicable contact.

โ€‹To delete a previously generated certificate:
Stored certificates can be deleted if duplicates are accidentally made.

  1. Navigate to the applicable profile (Client or Patient).

  2. Click on Documents and select View Certificates

  3. Check off one, or multiple, certificates that you wish to delete

  4. Click Delete Selected at the top left

  5. Verify that you understand this is permanent and wish to delete the certificates by typing "delete".

To ensure you have a complete rabies vaccination history, make sure to apply an action to your rabies inventory item to create the certificate right when the item is added as a medical record. Having all staff signatures on file will ensure these historical certificates are ready to go when a client requests them!

If the certificate does not show in the list, you can use a Letter to manually recreate a certificate and input the required information, see Working with Letters for basics of Letter Templates or Generating Historical Vaccination Certificates for a step by step walkthrough for this particular usage of the feature.
