Exporting Patient History

Export one or more patients history to provide to your clients or a specialty provider.

📝 Overview

Export a single patient's history or multiple patients under a single client — by email or print. When exporting you can pick and choose what data you want exported, giving you complete control over what is needed in the export.


📧 Emailing a Single Patient's History

Follow the below steps in order to export a patient history:

  1. Navigate to the applicable patient

  2. Click Export Patient File and select Email Patient File

  3. Select the date range for the records you wish to include

  4. Check the boxes next to the records you wish to include (or click on Include all to select all the records)

  5. Click Next

  6. Edit the recipients, subject, and message, as desired

  7. Click Email File

💡 The patient's primary owner will appear as a recipient in the To field by default. You may add any client or contact to the To field by typing the applicable list. To remove a recipient, click the X next to the applicable name.

💡 Tip: If you only need to send a specific attachment(s), you can choose the attachment(s) to send when you click the Attachments option in the export form.


Printing a Patient File

To print a patient file, select "Print Patient File" and follow the same steps as emailing.

💡 The print preview of the patient's records will "pop-up" in a new tab or window of your internet browser. Please ensure "pop-up" blockers are disabled for https://www.daysmartvet.com/. To learn more about disabling pop-up blockers, please see Allowing pop-ups for Printing.

💡Tip: Just need to email or print a rabies or vaccine certificate? Navigate to the patient Client or Patient profile. Click the Documents tab and View Certificates. You can then export the applicable certificate from the gear icon to right of the certificate.


✖️Emailing Multiple Patient's History Records

Follow the steps below to email all multiple client's patient exports:

  1. Navigate to the client profile who is related to the patients to export

  2. Click the Relationships tab, and select Export Patients

  3. Select the desired date range and Veterinarian

  4. Select the patients whose records you wish to export

  5. Click Export, and the records will be Emailed to the email on the client profile

⚠️ When exporting multiple patient records, the system will include all record types except the following: Communications, Patient Notes & Tasks.

Can I send a patient file to someone other than the primary owner?

Yes. While the primary owner appears in the To field by default, you can add any client or contact by typing their name in the To field. To remove a recipient, click the X next to their name.

What record types are excluded when exporting multiple patients?

When exporting multiple patients under a client profile, Communications and Patient Notes & Tasks are not included in the export.

What should I do if the print preview isn't appearing?

The print preview opens in a new browser tab or window. If it isn't appearing, your browser may be blocking pop-ups. Ensure pop-up blockers are disabled for https://www.daysmartvet.com/. See the Printing a Patient File section above for a link to more details.

Can I export only specific attachments?

Yes. When using the email export form, click the Attachments option to select only the specific attachments you want to send.
