Learn how to upload attachments into your system and use them as needed during a visit.

Overview

Attachment templates are an attachment library. You can upload outside attachments into this library and then easily utilize any attachment in the library during a visit. You can also upload attachments from your device on the spot. In this article, you will learn the different ways to utilize attachments.

Adding Attachments to Library

Adding an attachment to the library:

  1. Click on "Settings"

  2. Click on “Templates” and select the option to add a "New Template"

  3. Complete the form that appears (ensure that the “Type” field is set to “Attachment”)

  5. Select "Choose File" and you will be able to find the saved document from your computer's files.

  6. Click "Save + Done", or click the down arrow and select "Save + Add New" if you have more attachments you would like to load.

You can upload multiple files at the same time, so long as the combined size of the uploads is 150MB or less.

When working on a mobile device (such as a tablet), you will be prompted to take a new photo or video, or to upload a photo or video from the device's library rather than being able to navigate to the device's desktop.

Adding Attachments Using Actions or Manual Upload

Adding Attachments from a Action:

Actions can be used to automatically incorporate an attachment from the library into the documents folder of the applicable medical note or patient or client profiles. Actions are defined in the applicable inventory item or bundle. For more information about using actions in Daysmart Vet, please see click here.


Adding Attachments Manually to a Patient or Client Profile:


Attachments can be added to the document folder of a medical note or a patient or client profile. To add an attachment manually:

  1. Navigate to the applicable profile

  2. Click on “Documents” and select the “New Attachment” option

  3. In the form that appears, you can choose to "Upload New" or choose an existing attachment in your library from the option "Attachments (Library)"

  4. If you choose to upload a new attachments, you can choose an attachment from your computers files under the "Attachment(s):" field. If you are pulling one from your library, select the applicable attachment. Click “Save” once you have chosen the needed attachment

Viewing all Attachments for a Patient or Client:

  1. Navigate to the applicable patient or client profile

  2. Click on "Documents" and select "View Attachments"

Attach a file to a medical note:

  1. Navigate to the applicable medical note

  2. Click on "Documents" and select "New Attachment"

  3. Select to "Upload New" which allows you to choose a file from your computers, or select from you "Attachment (Library)"

  4. Complete the rest of the form

  5. Click "Save"

Attach a file to a medical record:

  1. Create a new medical record

  2. Drag or select the desired file(s) into the "Documents" field at the bottom of the form

  3. Click "Save + Done"


Deleting Attachment from Library

To delete an existing attachment from the library:

  1. Click on "Settings"

  2. Click on “Templates” and select the “View Attachments” option

  3. Click "Delete" on the right of the applicable attachment

  4. Confirm your intent to delete the attachment by typing in "Delete" in the form that appears.

Once confirmed, the attachment will be deleted from actions and it will no longer be available for adding manually. Prior uses of the attachment will not be impacted, and they will remain in the applicable history.
